Trail Report, Dec. 18
Night 2 of grooming is in the books and conditions are better than “twice as good.” You will find classic tracks and a skate lane in three trail networks: Prospect Farm, Upper Village and Lower Village.
Lower Village, starting from the Touring Center is being groomed and tracked as this report is being written. The grooming will stay on the Wentworth Resort Loop. This is a great place for beginners, families and anyone who wants to get in some exercise right in town.
You can ski from the Lower Village to the Upper Village via the Yodel today; groomer did not specifiy if that was tracked for classic skiing, but if you have skied the Yodel before you know it is fairly hilly so the classic tracks are not 100% necessary if you are using it as “here to there” trail.
The Upper Village is groomed for classic and skate; much different from yesterday. It can be accessed via the Yodel on skis, or at the Valley Cross Road parking lot or from the Woodchuck parking lot (.7 miles past the Eagle Mountain House on Carter Notch Road.) These trails include: Woodchuck (bridge is open), Wildcat Valley Trail to the Eagle Resort Loop; Eagle, Wave, John, Henry, Airport, Peter’s.
Prospect Farm, which received more snow in the last storm than the village, has been groomed classic & skate on Boggy Brook; Quail has been packed (no classic tracks) and up the hill to the Orchard (no classic; and just “to Orchard” not beyond.)
Tickets are $24; lessons are available starting Monday. The rental shop is open.
