“From the moment we arrived to our departure we were made to feel at home. The rooms are charming and exquisitely decorated. The hosts are friendly and discrete but nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely return to this inn and would have no problem recommending to all our friends and family. Great setting quiet but close to all attractions and amenities with the hosts recommendations for dining in the vicinity first class. We will miss the charm and warmth.”

“This was our first visit to the Bernerhof with Melissa and Len as Innkeepers. What a change from our previous visit! They have done a fantastic job with the decor: beautiful colors, luxurious bedding, updated bathrooms. The mattress was the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Breakfast, prepared by Melissa and served by Len, was outstanding (homemade granola, yum!) My husband loves gadgets, so the iPad, flat screen TV and computers on every floor made him very happy. Can't say enough about the kindness and generosity of Len who was very responsive to any request we made. We will definitely recommend this B&B to our friends and can't wait to return ourselves.”

“This inn is spectacular both inside and out. The staff were friendly and totally accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and romantic. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable. The food, which was prepared by the owner himself, was out of this world. We cannot wait to go back again. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway in the beautiful area of the White Mountains.”

Guest Comments:

“The Inn is beautiful and the staff was superb! The owners, the wait staff, the desk staff - they were all so friendly and helpful. That is what makes this place truly special. We felt welcome and comfortable and the staff truly went out of their way to make our weekend a memorable one for our entire family. The food was amazing too! These special touches truly set the Inn apart from the hotel experience.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Christmas Farm Inn. Our room was clean and was perfect for a family of 4 as our children had a separate door to their room. The rates were more than reasonable -especially meals. Breakfast was included in our stay and well worth it-as you could choose from all the delicious items on a menu.”

“We have stayed here twice now and loved it both times. This past time we decided to dine in for dinner (usually we ate at one of the local restaurants). The food at the Christmas Farm Inn was great and very reasonably priced. The staff could not be more pleasant. There are new innkeepers as of this year and they were truly devoted to making our stay great.”

RiverWood Inn (Lodging)

RiverWood Inn

Hosts: Susan Van Tuyl & James Gleason
49 Main Street/Rte 16
Jackson, NH 03846-0149

RiverWood is Jackson Village’s newest old Bed & Breakfast Inn - now in our third year of winter operations.  When heading into the Village, we’re just across Jackson’s Honeymoon Covered Bridge; soon after Flossie’s on your left; and we are ideally located within walking distance to the village restaurants, shops, and of course, the Jackson Ski Touring Center.

The Inn is situated in a stunning natural setting on five acres of rolling fields and woodland; and bordered by the confluence of the Wildcat and Ellis Rivers.

We are very skier friendly!  Jackson Ski Touring Foundation ski and snow-shoe trails meander across the property allowing our guests to ski from our doorsteps down the Covered Bridge trail to the foothills or into town.

The trails are actually groomed right up to our yellow Ski Barn where guests can securely store their skis.  Actually, the only thieves we have here in Jackson are the bears – but they’ll be snoozing away.  For those of us who still prefer to use that sticky stuff on our staves, we have a custom-made bench for you to “wax on” or otherwise tune up your equipment!  There’s also hot cocoa available on weekends and holidays.

Meanwhile back at the Inn…enjoy the artwork, the antiques, the overstuffed furnishings and the cozy fireplace in the living room.  Or spend a quiet, sun-streamed reverie in the library.  Homemade cookies are served in the afternoon, along with coffee tea or hot cocoa

The breakfast room is a bright, sun-basted, cathedral-ceilinged affair with views to Thorn Mountain; where we serve creative breakfast cuisine - RiverWood is the home of the Wildcat Waffle – our own unique creation.

In your room you will experience oriental rugs, luxurious bedding and Egyptian cotton linens, custom draperies and bed covers, Turkish (really – they’re wonderful) towels, and Gilchrist & Soames bath products.

Choose between rooms in the Inn or suites in the Carriage House.  Some Carriage House rooms have kitchenettes, and the upper story chambers have private balconies overlooking the Wildcat River - with crisp views of the Presidential Range.

All rooms at RiverWood have ensuite baths - some with hot tubs, Wi-Fi, cable, LED televisions and a sunny disposition.

Join us for a weekend, or sneak away mid-week (we won't tell Mr. Scrooge) for a day of skiing, an evening by the fire in our cozy living room, and a restful night's sleep in our overstuffed beds.  Next morning you'll be treated to a gourmet breakfast ready for you when you rise.

Stay with us two nights any non-holiday/vacation mid-week, and ski or snow-shoe free (two adult tickets).

We always provide discounted tickets, so unless you want to, you won’t need to go to the Ski Lodge.

Beautiful + Sparkling Clean +Wonderful Innkeepers + Charming Village”

We were traveling with two other couples, our best friends from Houston; us from Maine. I wanted to show them the best of New England for their first trip to this part of the world. Our trip couldn't have been more pleasant and terrific. The RiverWood Inn is on a charming site in the heart of Jackson; which is a beautiful charming

The Inn is sparkling clean, an issue very important to my wife as well as myself. The Innkeepers Susan and James are the most friendly and helpful and always are on the watch to what would be good for us. The gourmet breakfast is delicious and the cookies and iced or hot coffee or tea in the afternoons a refreshing surprise. James has been very helpful on local activities and restaurant recommendation. We had one of the best meals last night at his recommendation White Mountain Cider Co.

We will come back just to be at RiverWood Inn; love the Inn and the Inn Keepers.
By the way, they have the best bed and pillows we’ve ever experienced in our extensive travels.  Actually we bring our own pillows on most of our trips. At RiverWood Inn we left our own pillows in the car.

“Wonderful Hosts and Great Place to Stay”

We recently spent 7 nights at the inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn has been restored over the last two years and is tastefully appointed in the guest rooms and common areas. The beds and bedding were outstandingly comfortable. From the first day, we came to look forward to breakfast, as Susan & James displayed their experience and creativity in preparing everything from delicious omelets to wonderfully light waffles with walnuts and currants! We always had fresh fruits, delightful parfaits, afternoon cookies, and local ingredients such as the yummy maple syrup and jams. Our hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful in locating the best places to cross country ski, eat and shop. The Inn is located close to restaurants, cafes and the Library, so walking, biking or skiing from the Inn makes it possible to leave the car parked. This is a place worth many return trips and we look forward to exploring the area in other seasons.
